- S2 FINAL POWER RANKINGS -

WRITTEN BY: PROFESSOR X

The Final Power Rankings of Season 2 are here, and it’s officially crunch time. Some teams are surging, locked in and laser-focused on a championship run. Others are sliding at the worst possible time, watching their playoff hopes slip. But thanks to the new play-in format—7 vs. 10 and 8 vs. 9—there’s still hope for squads hanging near the bottom. As long as you're in the top 10, you’ve got a shot. That means every game matters, and nobody’s safe. What started as a chaotic season has only gotten crazier. We’ve seen squads rise from underdogs to contenders, and some favorites fall flat. But that’s the beauty of this league, expect the unexpected. The intensity is peaking, and now it’s all about who wants it more. No more warmups. No more excuses. The postseason is calling, and if you're not ready, you're getting left behind. Let’s break down where everyone stands heading into the most important stretch of the season. Let’s get to it!

1. HORNETS: Hornets have looked unstoppable since Week 2. Everything has clicked for them on both ends of the floor, and with MVP frontrunner Jeroy leading the charge, they remain undefeated since Week 2. I don’t see that changing through the rest of the regular season. Their physical style of play is relentless, and with the momentum they’ve built, I fully expect a deep playoff run. That’s why they’re my new title favorites. Things are definitely buzzing for the Hornets. Previously 2.

2. SHOTTAS: Shottas have been one of the most consistent teams all season long and are more than capable of claiming the top spot. MVP candidate Isaiah has been steady since the jump, keeping his squad composed in big moments. But playoff success comes down to depth, and Shottas have that in Khami and William, who are more than capable of stepping up when it counts. If they do, this team will be a serious postseason threat. Previously 3.

3. HUSKIES: Huskies may no longer hold the top spot, but they’re still firmly among the elite. While they lack a clear go-to guy this season, especially with TK struggling with injuries. They’re playing excellent team basketball, and that’s what makes them dangerous. As defending champs, they’ve got the experience and composure for playoff basketball. If someone can step up as that consistent offensive force, Tharan being the likely candidate after his major leap, this team can go far. Previously 1.

4. CAVALIERS: The Cavs have been through it all, sky-high expectations followed by a brutal start. But they’ve turned a corner. The addition of the Damani brothers to an already dangerous trio of Abilash, Eman, and Gauka has elevated this team. They still need to solidify their chemistry, but the pieces are all there. Come playoff time, they could be a serious problem. Previously 11.

5. SWISH: Swish has made a strong push into the top five. After a string of dominant wins and a thrilling comeback capped off with a game-winner, they’re heating up. Their latest outing ended in a loss, but their effort and resilience stood out, they never stopped fighting. Their unselfish, team-first approach and never-quit mentality could carry them far in the postseason. Previously 6.

6. LAKERS: The Lakers have been solid but haven’t quite broken through against the top teams. Still, they’re dangerous, and underestimating them would be a mistake. Abhiram has had an up and down season, but I believe he can turn it on late. Akash has been consistent, while the breakout story has been Ashwin, who’s taken a major leap forward. Their big three looks strong, but like the LeBron-Luka-Reaves trio, the big question is, can they lock in defensively? Previously 5.

7. HELLCATS: Mid-season, the Hellcats have caught fire. What looked like a short season has flipped dramatically, largely thanks to Abishan, who’s entered the MVP conversation after back-to-back 30-point performances. Their style is fun and aggressive, but playoff defenses will key in on Abishan. The big question is whether Dev and reigning MVP Viz, both having quiet seasons, can return to form. If they do, watch out. Previously 9.

8. SHOOTING STARS: Another squad making a mid-season surge, the Shooting Stars are coming together at the right time. Arjun and Ayub have been hooping like I expected them to, and team chemistry is clearly improving. If they can stay consistent, they’re built to pull off an upset or two in the playoffs. Previously 10.

9. PHANTOMS: It’s surprising to see the Phantoms fall this far after such a strong start. Something just feels off. Their shooting, once their biggest weapon, has gone cold. Still, the talent is there. If they can rediscover their rhythm, they’re capable of knocking off top teams. Don’t count them out just yet. Previously 4.

10. DEMONS: The Demons haven’t lived up to expectations. While Nirjan has brought a much needed presence, this team has struggled to build chemistry, especially with inconsistent player availability. They’re still in the play-in mix, and if they can get in sync, there’s potential to make some noise. Previously 7.

11. TMC: TMC has started to show some life, picking up a couple of wins mid-season. Improved chemistry is helping them gain momentum. A play-in spot is definitely within reach. If their top guys can step up, don’t sleep on a late-season push. Previously 12.

12. FALCONS: The energy is there….. but the results aren’t. The Falcons have tumbled from dark horse status to the bottom of the league. Chemistry issues and missed opportunities have cost them games they should’ve won. With a tough schedule ahead, a play-in push won’t be easy, but crazier things have happened. Previously 8.
