- FIRST ROUND PREDICTIONS -

WRITTEN BY: PROFESSOR X

After an incredible and hard-fought third season, it’s finally that time… PLAYOFFS, BABY. Everything you did all season led to this moment. Records don’t matter anymore. Past games don’t matter. It’s win or go home. This isn’t regular-season basketball, this is war. Every possession matters. Every mistake gets punished. Make the big shots. Make the big plays. Step up when the lights are the brightest, and the pressure is at its highest. The final 4 minutes will be stop time if the score is within 10 points, so expect close finishes, momentum swings, and playoff drama. Each team gets two timeouts per half, they do NOT carry over. Use them or lose them. This is where leaders rise, benches get loud, and role players become legends. Hustle plays win games. Defense wins championships. One moment can change everything. I’m beyond excited for what’s about to go down. Leave it all on the floor. No regrets. No excuses. Let’s ball out!

9PM HUSKIES vs TMC - (HUSKIES +7)

What a first-round matchup we have here. Huskies who have been dominant from start to finish and led by the unstoppable Brian, come into the playoffs riding a season-long wave of consistency and control. They’ve set the standard all year and have matched up well against nearly every team in the division, largely because of their size and Brian’s dominance on both ends of the floor. Standing in their way is the ultimate Cinderella story TMC. A team that fought, scrapped, and got just enough things to go their way to sneak into the playoffs. Their journey here has been anything but smooth, but sometimes that’s exactly what makes a team dangerous. While the Huskies hold the advantage on paper, TMC may be one of the few teams capable of matching the size and physicality that the Huskies bring. This won’t be easy. It’ll be a hard-fought battle between two teams that took very different paths to reach this moment. In the end, I give the edge to the Huskies. Their championship experience, poise, and ability to execute in big moments should take over late. That said, I’m not counting TMC out just yet, maybe they’ve got a few more prayers left to be answered. Expect a battle that goes down to the wire.

9PM SAVAGE VS SWISH (SAVAGE +9)

This is a really intriguing matchup, especially considering how similar these two teams seasons have been. Both Savage and Swish came out firing, spending time near the top of the standings and looking like true contenders early on. Then the wheels came off. Losing streaks hit, doubts crept in, and it started to feel like those hot starts might’ve been a fluke. The difference? Savage found a way out. They regrouped, flipped the switch, and clawed their way back into one of the top seeds. Swish, on the other hand, never fully recovered. A four-game losing streak to close out the season forced them to scrape by just enough to secure a playoff spot. Injuries to James and Prem completely stalled the momentum Swish built early in the year, and that’s a tough hole to climb out of, especially against a Savage team that’s starting to look like the version we saw at the beginning of the season. They’ve been imposing their will on the glass, owning the rebounding battle, playing physical, and talking enough trash to get opponents out of their rhythm. I expect this one to be competitive early, but as the game goes on, I see Savage turning up the intensity. The trash talk gets louder, the rebounding gap gets wider, and by the second half, Savage starts to pull away and cruise past Swish.

10PM HORNETS VS PANTHERS (PANTHERS +1)

This is a playoff rematch we already got a taste of during the regular season, and that one went right down to the wire. The Panthers came out firing, jumping to a 13-point lead before watching it slowly disappear. They did just enough to survive and hold off the Hornets in the end. I expect a similar level of intensity this time around, but without the early blowout. This one feels like a true back-and-forth battle from start to finish, a game that comes down to the final possession. Either a clutch game-winner or a game-saving defensive stop. That’s how thin the margin will be. Abbeshan has been putting this team on his back all season, delivering an MVP-caliber performance night after night. He’s willed this Panthers squad to this point, and I expect him to do it again, just enough to help them squeak by. That said, don’t sleep on the defending champs. The Hornets defensive intensity has picked up at the perfect time, creating easier looks on offense. They’ve been rolling lately and are starting to show flashes of that dominant championship run we all remember. This game can truly go either way, and I cannot wait to watch it unfold. Potentially the game of the night!

10PM MAMBAS VS TITANS (MAMBAS +2)

This is another matchup with game-of-the-night potential written all over it. Two teams that just faced each other in the regular season now meet again, back-to-back weeks, with that last matchup still fresh in everyone’s mind. Expect an all-out war. Back-and-forth offense. Timely defensive stops. Momentum swings. This one is going to be absolute cinema. I’m giving a slight edge to the Mambas. That last loss left a bitter taste, and I expect a strong response. They’ve been one of the top teams all season, but they haven’t fully clicked as a unit yet, and there’s no better time than a do-or-die playoff moment for everything to come together. That said, you cannot count out the Titans. After starting the season 1–5, they went on a three-game winning streak to punch their ticket to the playoffs. Everything has been trending in the right direction, and with the confidence they’ve built, another upset is absolutely on the table. This game could go either way. It’s going to be intense, physical, and fun to watch from start to finish. I can’t wait for this one!
